IMPROVING SOCIETAL IMPACT THROUGH CLEAR ACTIONS

As we redefine performance as a brand, many of our Associates are also working to reduce their impacts while increasing their positive influence on society. Our purpose and commitments help us foster a positive and meaningful experience for our Associates and society.

    PROVIDING PURPOSE AND MEANING

Since founding the company in 1958, Bill Gore emphasized the importance of purpose and applying technology to have a meaningful impact on society.

Gore is one of a select few companies to appear on all US “100 Best Companies to Work For” lists since the rankings debuted in 1984. The company also appears regularly on similar lists around the world.

As a reflection of our employees’ commitment, they’ve initiated volunteer efforts, including money raised through the Bike to Work initiative and the support of the Mountain Forest Project in the Bavarian Alps.

    MOUNTAIN FOREST PROJECT

Gore Associates continue to support a Mountain Forest Project in the Bavarian Alps. As part of the Work-Life Balance program, Gore Associates in Germany donated their time to support the non-profit “Bergwaldprojekt e.V.” This prominent German conservation group has worked to restore forest trails and tree cover in the Bavarian Alps within its Mountain Forest Project for almost 25 years.
In the last 10 years, as part of the charity’s ongoing work, again thousands of young trees were planted and several kilometers of forest paths were laid or replaced.

ITALIAN RED CROSS INITIATIVE „Time for Kindness“

Most Italian Associates selected the non-profit organization as the recipient for their annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) donation. The local Italian CSR team felt the urgency to give something back to the community true to our shared promise of ”Together, improving life”.”

Instead of donating the usual 20,000 EUR for social projects, Gore Italy doubled the amount to 40,000 EUR this year with the support of the Italian subsidiary leaders and the divisional teams.
