Designed for Multi-Terrain Performance
At the core of this concept is the GORE-TEX® EXTRAGUARD Product Technology, engineered specifically for demanding applications. Delivered in roll form, EXTRAGUARD Upper can be cut into larger pattern pieces, which reduces the number of seams and taping required for waterproof protection. This approach opens the door to new construction techniques that minimize pressure points in high-wear areas such as the heel and shaft while improving overall durability.
Drawing inspiration from sneaker design, the concept prioritizes comfort and a contemporary look, important for soldiers and service members who value both function and modern aesthetics in their gear.
Sustainability and Resource Efficiency
The design advantages of the EXTRAGUARD Upper also support more sustainable and efficient production methods. Its roll-form supply ensures consistent quality while minimizing material waste. Because it requires fewer seams, the need for taping and sealing in waterproof construction is reduced, simplifying manufacturing.
EXTRAGUARD Upper technology also allows for a variety of design approaches, including PU casting, printing, debossing, welding, and stitch-free applications, giving footwear brands more creative freedom and opportunities for cost efficiency.
