Integrated Innovation: How it Works
The 3-layer EXTRAGUARD Upper, sealed with GORE-SEAM® Tape and integrated with the GORE-TEX Lining (inner bootie construction), forms a fully protected barrier in the safety boot. Seam sealing prevents moisture from penetrating through the seams, while the EXTRAGUARD technology minimizes water absorption, even after extensive use. The GORE-TEX Bootie ensures durable waterproofness and a high level of breathability of the safety footwear.

For daily work, when dry, the robust and abrasion-resistant upper material construction is 40 percent lighter than leather.
Due to the low water absorption construction, the upper offers lasting lightness in wet conditions.
The upper hardly absorbs any moisture from the outside even after extensive use or loss of the water repellent finish.
The upper allows significantly faster drying time compared with conventional uppers for professional footwear.
The EXTRAGUARD upper material is easy to clean and does not require specific care products as needed for other conventional uppers.
External moisture cannot penetrate beyond the low water absorption construction layer. The result: reduced conductive heat loss, feet stay dry and comfortable when out in the field.
Designed for the harshest work environments, EXTRAGUARD upper technology offers robust protection, even after months of use or constant wear in challenging wet conditions.
Tested for safety and certified in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2011 for protection level S2 and S3 safety footwear.
Offers protection against commonly occurring chemicals*, in accordance with ISO 13994/ASTM F 903, method C.
*Commonly occurring chemicals include AFFF Fire-fighting foam (3%), sulphuric acid H2SO4 (37%) diesel, and caustic soda NaOH (30%).
Gore Lab Tests:
- Gore static Water bucket test: Boots are submerged at a minimum/at least of 10 cm water level depending on boot style.
- Gore Walking simulator test: Boots are submerged in 5 cm water and flexed 300,000 times.
